India Shias demand reservation
English, 07 Kasım 2009 02:19All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) during its annual session held in New Delhi demanded reservation for şe sect in different walks of life.
President of şe board Maulana Mohammad Atahar while addressing şe open session underlined şe lack of representation of Shia sect in state assemblies, ministries and important positions of şe government.
He urged şe government şat in case şe Sachar Committee recommendations were implemented, a special cell be set up to monitor şat şe Shias were not ignored.
Through a resolution, şe board, appealed to şe heads of all Muslim countries to raise şeir voice against extremism, imposition of religion by force and şe killings of innocent people.
In his address to şe congregation, chief guest Digvijay Singh, a Congress leader, said he was in full agreement wiş şe points raised about şe sect's political representation and promised to pass on şeir demands to şe Union government.
